Journalism from the Far North

Unsettled

By admin • Aug 31st, 2008 • Category: On Deck

Things are a bit crazy in Palmer these days with the Alaska State Fair and Gov. Palin being chosen as John McCain’s running mate. They probably won’t settle down until after the November election (and perhaps not even then) but at least I’ve been reminded of why the newspaper industry is so much fun.

One of my Palin images from an interview last year with Anchorage Daily News reporter Tom Kizzia has been making the rounds. I know it appeared as the homepage lead on nytimes.com (albeit at 2 am East Coast Time) and in the Seattle Times. The VP candidate sitting on a bear pelt with a giant crab? What’s not to love?
