Digging is the fun part of clamming. This is unfortunate because cleaning the creatures is a major project and you’re always tempted to harvest Just. One. More. Clam.

On this trip we planned to dig just enough for dinner and we ended up with dinner (breaded), a chowder, and a some given away. Still, they were delicious and got us ready for our salmon (Kasilof) and halibut (Deep Creek) trips the rest of the weekend.
